Case study:
Carbon Capture and Storage
Pioneering a national actionable framework for enabling development of innovative sustainable technologies
Context:
As important as the switch to renewable energy sources is, some industries emit CO2 as part of their production processes, independent of the energy sources used to fuel them. In order to meet the challenge of de-carbonizing these industries, as well as to help reduce EU carbon footprint, our client asked us to develop an actionable framework that can secure commerciality of capturing these CO2 emissions and transporting them to a safe underground storage; as well as enable ease of investment in this innovative technological solution.
How we helped our client:
We developed commercially viable business models for small and large-scale carbon capture and storage facilities, identified pain-points in the current legal framework of the country in question, aligned key stakeholders needed to push through, successfully negotiated a pilot-projects, and set up an actionable plan in order to bring it to fruition.
Result:
Carbon capture and storage projects are moving forward, securing funding, and helping decarbonize Europe.
